Iguarnieri’s “Countryside Good Government” is a painting that transports the viewer into a rural scene. In the center of the work, elegantly dressed gentlemen ride to the exterior of a castle, while in the background rolling hills are dotted with picturesque rural homes. Here, hard-working peasants tend the countryside, creating a vivid contrast between the aristocratic and the everyday.
